Blog ideas for Plumbers in 2017

When you think about blogging, images of decadently prepared food and exotic travelling adventures often come to mind. In comparison, images of drain pipes and toilet lids are not typically considered to be “instagram worthy.” But wait. We’re going to let you in on a little SEO secret:

Bogging is one of the best ways to get relevant content onto your website, and relevant content boosts ranking.

Blogging is a great tool for plumbers to utilize, not only to work on the SEO of a site, but also to provide customers with useful, accessible information about the things that you do every day. Blogs can turn your website into an information source that people can come to, learn from, and then buy from in the future. So get those contemporary stereotypes of blogging out of your mind, and start writing about what you know! Here’s 5 blogging ideas for plumbers that are current to 2017 ideas about plumbing.

  1. How to fix common problems

Things like “how to fix a running toilet,” or “how to patch up a pipe leak” are not only great blogging material, but are very common search queries. People are wanting to do things themselves more often in today’s time, and are looking for a trustworthy source that can give them the knowledge they need to do things. Writing about common plumbing issues can inform your consumer and be there as a backup in case their problem becomes a larger issue. This type of blog post for plumbers also gives you a lot of relevant and similar keywords that point back to the fact that you are a plumber. Keywords like drains, pipes, leaks, etc. all help your ranking as a local plumber.

  1. Review certain products: the pros and the cons

If you offer products like water tanks or branded products, go ahead and write a couple blog posts about the pros and cons of each. Be honest, and acknowledge every side. Even though you want to sell the “big box items,” you should not falsify its benefits. Be a company that your customers (and Google) can trust, and this, in turn, will earn you more business and even improve your web visibility. The point of blogging is to talk about relevant things in your industry. So, if you take the time to discuss all the facets, technical and practical, then it can benefit you greatly.

  1. How to save money

People these days are very energy conscious. If not for the sake of sustainability, then they are for the sake of saving money. Take this current topic and talk about all the tips and tricks to get the dollar sign on the utility bill down low. Talk about water conservatism, or popular energy-saving products. This could get you a lot of different traffic from search queries like “How to save money on my water bill” and will give you fresh, relevant content for the 2017 year.

  1. DIY maintenance tips

Along the same track of money saving tips, teach people how to do common maintenance like cleaning drains or how to inspect a water tank. Teach your consumers how to do it themselves, then offer scenarios where they might need an expert to step in. Be an information source and get the rank in return.

  1. Talk about you

Finally, talk about your business. Tell the story of how you got into the plumbing business (even if it isn’t all that thrilling). Have a post dedicated to bios of your staff members. Talk about what you do in the community or the last event that you went to. Be humble, be honest, and tell people why they should choose your plumbing company over your competition. This last blog post idea may not come up in search queries, but it allows your customers to connect to you.

These are just a few, very broad ideas for plumbing blogs in 2017. Take these ideas as an opportunity to be the expert in your field and talk about what you know. Blogging is a must for 2017 SEO, especially for plumbing companies.

I have been in the plumbing replacement services business for some time and I agree with being humble and honest while telling people why they should choose you. Always worked for me. Great piece of information. Keep Posting.

Thanks for the message, it will be extremely useful for many. Blogs are an excellent way to increase traffic to your site and attract potential customers, but after a while it can be difficult to create new and interesting blog titles. I think personal stories and anecdotes are always a good idea, because they make your company more personal.

I agree on these factors, especially the first one. Age of the material should considered to be replaced because of the quality of the material already at its limit or having pipe corrosion, and etc.
